The world’s largest island, Greenland, bound by ice,
81% frozen, cursed for decades in vice.
2500 BC, Inuit history shines bright,
90% their own people, pure as a tear in the night.

Cultural genocide Danes unleashed in their name,
Stealing Inuit children from mothers’ embrace,
Forced sterilization crippled their line,
Then boasted of autonomy, their hypocritical shine.

Structural racial discrimination bred
Crimes without trials, no war but dread.
No Nuremberg judgment, just UN door apologies,
Public excuses for atrocities.

Arctic Council marginalizes Inuit might,
Gives them a seat without voice or right.
On vast resources, the paws reach in greed,
Mapping military and missile deeds.

Denmark as broker seeks allies so sly,
EU funds grow sweeter, piling high.
Taxpayers will suffer long-term the bill,
Hoping their children the debt will fulfill.

Cunningly saved from crisis they stand,
Layered deals demand veto and land.
Classic colonialism’s prism so clear,
Hunters of resources, powers revere.

Are minerals worth planet’s destruction’s toll,
Melting ice, toxic waste taking its soul?
Deserve Inuit referendum and world acclaim,
So our sole Earth gets mercy’s claim?

.Greenland’s Inuit right to independence true,
Like Antarctica our shared bond anew.
On them hangs climate, fauna, flora, and kin,
Be the herald with victory’s ardent fire within.

With love, Željka.
